Lake Worth Beach is a short drive from our Greenacres office, and we serve families there. If your child has autism and you are looking for ABA therapy that comes to you, here is how it works in your part of the county.
A short drive from our office
Our office at 6145 Lake Worth Rd, Suite A in Greenacres is on Lake Worth Road. Your city was called Lake Worth until residents voted to change it, and it became Lake Worth Beach in 2019. Search for either name and you will find us.
We serve Lake Worth Beach and families across Palm Beach County, including Greenacres, Lake Worth Beach, West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach, Wellington, Royal Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Lantana, Palm Springs, Delray Beach, Boca Raton and Jupiter.
Therapy where your child already lives
In-home ABA means a trained therapist works with your child in your own space. That might be a house near Lake Avenue, an apartment off Dixie Highway or a duplex a few blocks from the water. You do not need a special room. A table, a few toys your child loves and a place to sit are plenty.
Every RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) on our team is supervised by a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). The BCBA writes the plan with you. The RBT carries it out one-on-one, and you see the results in everyday moments: your child asking for juice, tolerating a haircut or playing a game with a cousin.
Neighborhoods across Lake Worth Beach
We work with families in the downtown area and in neighborhoods such as College Park, Old Lucerne, Tropical Ridge, South Palm Park, Whispering Palms, Bryant Park and Vernon Heights. Lake Clarke Shores and the west side of West Palm Beach are close too. If your street is not on that list, call and ask. Palm Beach County is our service area.
Libraries, parks and school help nearby
Children in Lake Worth Beach attend School District of Palm Beach County schools. The district's Exceptional Student Education (ESE) department offers autism services at a range of schools from Pre-K through high school, and the setup changes with each child's needs. Ask your child's school ESE coordinator how to request an evaluation.
For a child who is about 3 to 5 and not in public school yet, FDLRS Alpha Child Find offers free developmental screenings with no doctor referral and no insurance required. For a child under 3, Treasure Coast Early Steps from Easterseals Florida is the route, and a parent can make the referral.
Some places to get out of the house:
- Lake Worth Beach Public Library, downtown, and the county's Lantana Road Branch at 4020 Lantana Road. The county library system runs Sensory Friendly Browsing Hours, a calm hour for neurodiverse families. Check the calendar for dates.
- Bryant Park, on the Intracoastal at Lake Avenue, or the city beach across the bridge, for time near the water.
- John Prince Park, whose Therapeutic Recreation Complex at 2728 Lake Worth Road offers adapted recreation.
Support for you, not only your child
Raising a child with autism is tiring, and you deserve backup. FAU CARD (Center for Autism and Related Disabilities) is free for families in Palm Beach County and offers consultation, training and referrals. Dial 2-1-1 and ask for the Special Needs Helpline if your child is up to 22. The United Way of Palm Beach County also runs a Special Needs Initiative that helps with things like respite care and after-school care.
Parent training is part of ABA with us too. Your BCBA teaches you the same strategies the therapist uses so progress continues between sessions.
Insurance, explained simply
Florida Medicaid generally covers ABA for children under 21 when it is medically necessary. Many private plans must cover it for an autism diagnosis too. We accept Florida Medicaid, including Molina Healthcare, Sunshine Health, Children's Medical Services Health Plan and Community Care Plan, and we can check your benefits with private plans such as Aetna, Cigna, Florida Blue and UnitedHealthcare. Have your insurance card handy when you call, and we will check the benefits for you.
Your first conversation
Start with a free consultation, booked as soon as you call. We ask about your child, you ask about us, and nobody pushes. Then comes the insurance check, then a BCBA visit to get to know your child, and then sessions begin. There is no waitlist: we have openings. What sets the pace after that is the paperwork (the doctor's referral, a diagnostic evaluation, and insurance or Medicaid authorization) and your family's schedule.
